Happy Friday! Come celebrate at Monk's Cellar right after school. I hope everyone has a great 3 day weekend!
Bev Bos
One of the true educational leaders in early childhood education and from our area, Bev Bos, passed away on Wednesday night. Both Brooklyn and Ella went to her preschool and had her as a teacher. Part of their preschool program is parent education nights and so I went to quite a few of her workshops. I didn't always agree with everything she said, but a lot of my ideas and thoughts changed after listening to her. Below is a 15 minute video of her and her thoughts that aired on 20/20. It is long and not expecting anyone to watch it but it cool to hear her thoughts on education. And I love the last thing she says in the video. "We need to take everything we do at an early childhood education and move it up into public schools, and into all schools, where the kids walk in the door and they are excited and they are passionate and they have a zest for learning. Then we're going to have quality education. It is possible. It is possible. And above all, life ought to be fun. All life ought to be fun for kids."
Kinder Information Night- Thank you to Kim, Christina, and Shannon for helping at our TK, Kinder and Incoming Parent information night last night. We had a good turnout!
