Buckle Up, Everybody!
Thinking back to August, and our silly roller coaster ride-- this is the time of year where the ride really gets GOING! All of a sudden March is almost here, Spring break is coming, CAASSP testing is around the corner and it will be Open House before we know it! With all the crazy, we can still have fun! It's I Love Reading month, we're raising money for Pennies for Patients, we have an amazing new wing under construction and an absolutely fabulous crew on this wild ride together! Thank you for all you do!
Just a few reminders-- in March we will be discussing our expectations for spaces (playground etc) so be sure to add your name to this doc once you go out, and feel free to observe a different grade and playground than yours. I'm hoping we can all get that 10,000 foot school-wide view as we draft and craft our expectations together.
Speaking of a school-wide view, you may have seen the Google form in your email to invite you to potentially be on future teacher candidate interview panels. As you can see from all the shifting recently, we definitely need agile and amazing teachers who can teach any grade. I truly believe good teaching is good teaching and that even though you may have a preferred grade, I would be confident with any of you teaching any grade at Stoneridge! So although we currently have a 4th grade position open, we are looking for someone who could be a great fit in any grade if needed as numbers shift from year to year and changes always happen. Who knows? Maybe one of you may win the lottery and decided to stay home :) With this in mind, our panels will reflect a school-wide perspective, and each opening will have a TK-2 rep, a 3-5 rep, a representative from the grade with the opening, and Tamberlyn from SpEd. We need someone who will be a great fit for our school. We also are looking for the BEST! You all set a very high bar and we have a ton of moving pieces with houses and essentials and all of the instructional initiatives coming down the line. Whether inside the district, or with outside candidates, if people bring the ability to differentiate in small group, GLAD training, and experience with writing/workshop to the table, -- with the right skill set and mindset about kids and creating moments and building relationships--that's what we need moving forward if we can find it. How exciting and lucky for someone to get to join us all on this grand adventure we are on together!
Have a fabulous 3 day weekend!
