Oh, the terrible California weather. Once in awhile we get a week like this where it just rains. Inside recess or out? What to do when the weather app says "cloudy" and it starts to rain anyways.

They were SO happy in this moment, singing "it's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring."
"I LOVE THE RAIN!" said two boys on our way in.
And the sheer joy on THESE faces as they huddled under bright umbrellas.
How often do we play in the rain?
Not often enough.
Enjoy the rain, and the fleeting rainbows if you are lucky enough to see them!
Celebrations!
Several of our teachers have recently been selected to participate in district or regional leadership opportunities -- let's all share a big hurrah!
First, congratulations to Sara Franco who will be attending the Leadership Challenge in Implementing Units of Study in Writing with Lucy Calkins in Sonoma this summer. She will be joining other RCSD admin, coaches, coordinators, and teacher leaders for a two day institute in July.
Also, Stephanie, Christi, and Melissa have been selected to lead district-wide as part of our district Digital Literacy Development Committee headed up by Brandon. Congratulations!
Cheers are also in order as our Willy Wonka musical premieres next week! Our whole school performance for students will be this Thursday from 1:30 until 3:00. Huge congrats and thank yous to Melissa, Shannon, Mandy, and JeriAnn for their countless hours spent on this amazing production. Night time performances are 6 PM Thursday and Friday for families. So excited!
Finally, I'd like to officially celebrate and welcome Taylor McMullen & Poppi Canepa to the 2018-19 Stoneridge Team! They will be joining us all day on the April 2 PD day. Welcome, ladies!
